Ross Hutchins and team at the Rally Against Cancer Celebrity Tennis Match for The Royal Marsden

We hugely admire pro tennis player Ross Hutchins' inspirational journey since being diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer and completing (last week) six months of chemotherapy treatment at The Royal Marsden in Sutton. Hutchins has written movingly about how his family and friends have supported him, including his team mate, Andy Murray, who touchingly dedicated his recent win at the final of the AGEON Championships to his best friend.

Celebrities including Sir Richard Branson, Boris Johnson, Michael McIntyre and Jimmy Carr jumped at the chance to support Hutchins and Murray in taking part in the recent Rally Against Cancer Celebrity Tennis Match, with other players including Tim Henman, Ivan Lendl and Tomas Berdych (click here to read the full story, in Hutchins' words, and see more photos, here). 'Every week on a Monday — whether I’d had chemo the Thursday before or not — I was at Queen’s to have a meeting about the event,' Hutchins writes. 'It has kept me buzzing and played a part in turning everything that’s happened in the past six months into a positive'.

To date - and not surprisingly - the fundraiser has exceeded it's goal of raising £100, 000 for The Royal Marsden (at the time of blogging, it stands at an amazing £156, 271.69!). A true inspiration!
