Chemo hat summer style edit at Suburban Turban

Tips to consider before you purchase your chemo hat summer style. Summer has arrived with temperatures in the mid 20’s, interspersed with close days equally warm with surprise rain and thunder.

What to wear on your head to keep cool? What to wear to keep you sun safe? So to inspire you here are some of our new items for summer.

A sun hat is a protective must for sensitive scalp skin during the warmer weather. Larger brimmed hats may be great for the garden but if you’re intending to wear it for most of the day, smaller brimmed hats are convenient. You’ll also need to think about taking it off and on throughout the day, so a covering underneath can also be a good idea. (Dune is pictured above.)

Fabulous colours have just arrived in our silk headband / bandana range – this super useful item is fine enough to wear under a summer hat as a bandana; add colour and texture over a base turban and then wear as a wide headband whilst your hair grows back in. Great chemo hat summer style that will carry you through the warmer months managing your hair loss.

Merle – is a great for a little retro everyday style. If you find having a long scarf wrapped around your head in the heat a little too warm, or even stretch fabrics warm to wear over the summer months, this is a great style for lighter wear.  Firstly it is made of non-stretch fabric (so no elastane) and it creates volume around the head without the bulk of too much fabric.

New scarf prints are coming in all the time and as usual we aim to keep our prints contemporary and 360 degree flattering when wrapped.  Some of our clients tell us scarves feel a little ‘too obvious’ and announce ‘treatment’ to the outside world.  It does very much depend on how you wrap it and what patterns and colours you choose.

Turbans / headwraps are big news at the moment and there are lots of style examples on YouTube – well worth taking a quick look and having a play. We’ve listed a few on our Facebook page – please do sign up and keep in touch with the latest style tips we find.

Headwear really can brighten your day, prompt compliments and conversations with strangers (mainly women!).  So many of our clients tell us of resulting kindnesses and ‘wonder tips’ passed on over a hat conversation.

Here’s to summer!
