Summer chemo hats for special occasions

The sunshine has arrived and the social calendar suddenly perks up and becomes busy with invitations to make the most of the fine weather.  We’ve had clients visiting us in the studio looking for special occasion chemo headwear and sharing their stories of family events and swanky affairs to look forward to.

It seems a good time for a summer update on new styles and what we recommend for a stylish covering to enable you to glide effortlessly through the crowds!

Special Occasion and Wedding Headware For Hair Loss

If you’re heading for a day at the races and have a favourite outfit to wear but are unable to wear the hat due to hair loss – read on.

Your favourite picture hat can still be worn with an under turban and look stunning.  In the picture below our model wears a perch fascinator hat worn over our under turban no. 1 – this fully covers the back of your head but is neatly concealed at the front to allow your hat to shine.

If you’re looking to buy or hire a hat that fully covers your head, wear our under turban no. 2, remember you will have to go up on the head fitting size to comfortably create the look.

We can always make up a classic turban to co-ordinate or match from our studio stock range of jerseys.  A different look to a picture hat, but as hats are becoming smaller with the current trend for fascinator hats a classic turban can look just as neat and elegant AND have real impact in the right colour.

Mother of the Bride Hats

We love to work with mothers of the bride and hear all about how the outfit is coming together.  We receive many requests for something ‘fabulous’.  Hats are wonderful for transforming your day and making hair loss ‘lemonade’ when life seems to have dished out a whole lot of lemons!  We aim to create a classic, elegant ‘fashion’ look rather than simply a head covering.

Hence our new release Serafina  seen below – a beautiful turban with a sinamay crown which can be removed later in the day, if your event is carrying on into the evening.

Cover up and protect your head

If you’re heading into the garden or spending the day at an outdoor event – protecting your head is essential.  A summer chemo hat and good SPF need to go with you.  Small brimmed hats are the most practical for all day wear, but large brimmed sun hats can make a wonderful statement and help you feel adorned!

All hats are still within reach despite hair loss, if you can wear a fine bandana underneath to cover the nape of your neck.

If your head is feeling sensitive or you overheat easily treat yourself to a little head luxury with a pure silk scarf Breathable and light to wear you won’t be disappointed.  Silk has an understated dressy quality to it – a slight sheen and depending on colours and prints, a real ‘Wow!’ factor.  Take a look at our new prints in stock and do not resist the urge to call everyone ‘Darling!’ whilst wearing one.
