Thinking ahead to winter and keeping the warmth and chic factor high here is our latest design – Sophia. We’ve cut the faux fur off the face for maximum comfort over longer periods of wear, and lined the whole hat with soft viscose jersey to avoid any contact sensitivity. The pile on the ‘fur’ is approximately 3 cms long, so a good style for women with wider profiles looking for more volume around the head. We feel the style has a late 50’s throwback when Liz Taylor and Sophia Loren would regularly appear in ‘turban’ styles, concealing their hair and maxing out on the glamour stakes. This classic look never seems to date and can turn a weary / tired day into one where people feel they need your autograph!
The style is cut deep onto the neck with a fitted lining to the head. It could be layered over a black Kimmy for transitioning effortlessly between outdoors and indoors too.
We manufacture many of our styles in our studio in Westcott, this means we can make them in S, M, and L sizes. The ‘High St.’ manufactures to a regular head fitting (56cms), so if you are experiencing problems getting hats to fit or hats to stay on, we can make for you. (Small and large sizes are kept as stock items in many of our styles.) We request that you enter your head measurement when ordering and we will ‘size’ the order before dispatching it to you. Our hats are hand made and hand finished, so there is always some slight variation between milliners!
It is machine washable (!) but we recommend a gentle hand wash to ensure faux fur keeps its good looks. Gently wring out, shake and leave to dry – DO NOT TUMBLE DRY.
