It’s true we do lose a lot of heat through our head, so it’s worth having some thicker headwear options ready by the time November comes round. Orla is is made with a 30{cd28af957ea4756d8660a1b99d348638ca7394d1ae9741dcc186e0c2b3562c1c} wool content and the crown tip is lined with a soft synthetic fleece material. We would recommend layering your hats through the winter months, so that you keep a soft beanie layer next to your head and can easily move from outdoors to indoors. (You can remove your warm outer layer and still have your head covered with a soft beanie.)
From our range we’d recommend something like the Kimmy which isn’t too bulky to wear underneath another hat and comes in a good range of colors, to either match up here or with a favorite winter hat at home. Best colors to match up with Orla are – Navy felt with Navy Kimmy and Mid-Grey felt with Cobalt Grey Kimmy.
We manufacture many of our styles in our studio in Westcott, this means we can make them in S, M, and L sizes. The ‘High St.’ manufactures to a regular head fitting (56cms), so if you are experiencing problems getting hats to fit or hats to stay on, we can make for you. (Small and large sizes are kept as stock items in many of our styles.) We request that you enter your head measurement when ordering and we will ‘size’ the order before dispatching it to you. Our hats are hand made and hand finished, so there is always some slight variation between milliners!
