We fell in love with this fabric when we found it – it has a rather ‘Missoni-esque’ quality to it. We like to make our turbans a little different so fabrics are key – this one is super lightweight, and looks great on. The interior of the hat is lined with soft viscose jersey. We’ve now added ‘Dubonnet’ in honour of Biba and everything else disco – a sort of russet red! And ‘Harlow Blue’ which has a snake skin appearance to it, shot with ice blue, darker grey on the monochrome jersey.
There is a metallic quality to the jersey but it isn’t over blingy – smart good looks for day wear or add lippy and some earrings and you’ll transform it into an elegant evening chemo hat. The draping around the turban is kept full and there is plenty of detail on the crown tip too – see photos above.
We manufacture many of our styles in our studio in Westcott, this means we can make them in S, M, and L sizes. The ‘High St.’ manufactures to a regular head fitting (56cms), so if you are experiencing problems getting hats to fit or hats to stay on, we can make for you. (Small and large sizes are kept as stock items in many of our styles.) We request that you enter your head measurement when ordering and we will ‘size’ the order before dispatching it to you. Our hats are hand made and hand finished, so there is always some slight variation between milliners!
Wash luke warm by hand – do not rub but gently squeeze when washing.
